You have abandoned RS for HF already! This has become a real quandry. Obviously, we can’t have membership at all the file sharing sites. I am looking into My Downloader but my RS plan lasts until Feb 2011. You have always been good at supporting multiple download sites. Can us RS folks get a reprieve for at least a little while? Downloads at both VE and PH have been failing lately, maybe because of bandwidth – not sure. But it’s been happening all too often.
Don’t know where to turn now.
Sorry Jake, Rapidshare has completely screwed things up to the point where it’s so fucking frustrating to use on the uploader side that I can barely stand even looking at it. Uploads go slower, there’s absolutely no way to organize my files I’ve uploaded over the years, and they basically just deleted a shit load of stuff that I’ve had hosted on their servers for years. And it wasn’t because of copyright infringing. They just cleared shit out for absolutely no reason and without any warning. I can’t even tell how to find files I’ve uploaded in the massive list I’ve accumulated, because they don’t have it organized in any logical order. It’s a total cluster fuck.
Anyhow, I did go ahead and re-upload the last few posts worth of files that I’d put on Hot File today. So I’ll drop those Rapidshare links in the comment sections of those posts. But I don’t know how I can continue using it, especially when I’m already uploading to three servers as it is.
Thanks for voicing your concerns, and hopefully we can perhaps figure out a different system of where I upload? Any thoughts or suggestions???
Super, I have used rapidshare for three years now, mostly for downloading. But I do have about a dozen files stored there. Yours probably number in the hundreds, maybe even thousands. I had no idea that they had changed the storage and organization end of things, or were deleting files. It hasn’t effected my small list. I thought they just instituted a new pricing scheme with the Rapids. I know a lot of heavy uploaders are upset at that alone.
I appreciate you’re giving it one last stab. I know it’s a delimma for you as well as for us. I have mentioned in the comments here before how much I appreciate your going the extra mile with multiple downlaod sources. Hardly anyone does that, and it’s one of the things that makes your site so user friendly. But I know that it has to have a limit.
My Downloader sounds like an elegant solution to this problem, and I woud love to hear pros and cons from anyone who’s using it.
